Google Cloud DEI Champs Illustrations

DEI Champs is an internal program created by Google Cloud to reinforce cultural awareness and allyship in the workplace. I was invited to create the illustrations for the program website, working with the Google Cloud creative team to improve the users experience, by visually engaging them to the content. In total, seven illustrations were created for the website: a hero and six feature illustrations. Each feature illustration is meant to represent a step of the DEI program. Even though the DEI concept is pictured in a more abstract way, the characters were given a big dimension of race, ability, gender and age, bringing inclusion to a more literal representation.

DEI stands for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and to portray a diverse work environment I used the concept of a garden. The big and colorful flowers represent cultural awareness among the Googlers team, in contrast to the gray thorny weeds, which portray biases that should be cut off from the workplace.
